At a time when we are encouraged to ‘tread lightly’ on the

earth, we can look to the Mediterranean, whose region’s

history of violent conflicts and intense trading since earliest

times has by no means diminished its remarkable diversity,

both cultural and biological. The great surprise is that this

humanization of natural landscapes has been, on the whole,

generative of life rather than destructive.

With this philosophy in mind coupled with California’s

optimistic outlook, Mediterranean Trading Company was

created. Sunshine, a temperate climate, respect for rugged

landscapes, and appreciation of food and wine, are all part of

the Mediterranean experience.
